Thought I could get away with road cranks since the BB is only 68mm wide (1990ish Muddyfox Pathfinder) but it looks like it'll have to be a single chainring if I'm going to use these cranks and a fairly small one at that :(
I've run Shimano Hollowtech II road cranks on a mountain bike frame with a couple of mm spacing on the drive side. It worked with no problems and gave me just the right clearance.
Spacers at the spindle or the chainring tabs? Not sure how the former would work but the latter is definitely a good shout for fitting a larger 1x chainring, thanks :)
Might have an issue with chain line, but then the rear hub is 135OLD sooo...
