  • If anyone is interested I also have a box load of genuinely antique wooden shoe lasts. These were used by the old Italian shoemaker that my machines came from in Italy.

All are unvarnished and pretty much as-found condition. With a light sanding or just a layer of varnish they’ll look good.

Lots of different shapes and sizes, but this was the first set off the top of the box.

£10 per pair plus post. They seem to go for silly money on ebay.

  • Wow those lasts are amazing. I’ll take a pair of uk 9 if you have them?
    Do you make shoes?

  • Yea okay but you know these are shoemakers’ lasts rather than shoe trees? I’ll try pull out a pair that fit inside a size 9.

Plan was to make shoes, or at least some kind of slippers, but plans changed. I am trying to sell my shoe finisher too, it needs rewiring for the UK (brought back from a stint in Italy).

If I get around to it I may look at making grecian/travel slippers in the near future, once I sort out a bunch of other stuff on the list.
