Makes sense to eat a chunk of the OEM market. Right now Apex 1 is going in a lot of bikes and the only answer they have is Tiagra with 50/34 and 34 rear.
Unless you mostly do road I'd rather have a smaller top gear, I can still manage 25mph in a 42t chainring. -

The 2x chainrings are pretty ugly.

Dem levers tho...

Tons of people use crosstops on budget road bikes. They aren't allowed hydro?
-
• #7857
apparently the ultegra level one is hollow
-
• #7858
I find them so horrible.
Handling = sketchy, no stablity, know someone who used them for off road and after a few rides changing to being on the drops was so much faster smashing about!

Right lever isn't straight. Outraged
PS cross tops are great for touring. Stretch your back out, move your hands around, etc.
-
• #7860
How would you bleed a system like that?
-
• #7861
I find them so horrible.
Yeah for sure, so does probably everyone else on here but you still see them on loads of carreras and other cheap road bikes so why exclude those people from having good brakes?
-
• #7862
I'd hazard a guess at no differently from normal.
-
• #7863
Appears to be hoseless braking? Or the poor lever set up?
-
• #7864
Not seen these Thesis bikes before.
-
• #7865
uh .. thats carbonda
-
• #7866
Ha, then maybe I have.
-
• #7868
Fat as in heavy? Standard steel genesi are heavy
-
• #7869
Nah, as in diameter... can't explain any further without a massive double entendre.
-
• #7870
You mean big tubes .
-
• #7871
£1k for a frame?
You can pick loads for that. I spent £500 rrp on my transition and I wouldn’t change it, or spend more tbh. I had two more cage mounts added and I’m happy as Larry, 4130 chromo ftw.

• #7872
How much of a hurry are you in to buy one?
-
• #7873
Rodeo flaanimal ticks a lot of boxes for me.
-
• #7874
Not massive. Yours will be too big for me though!
The new condor looks nice, although alu, and with stolen branding. -
• #7875
I was thinking more that I have a brazing torch and a load of brass...
My guess would be no hollow crank, only shaped.
