From the categorie gravel without the cost. Added some 38mm Gravelking slicks to my Vortrieb Cyclocross Frame. -

Could you please let me know which fork you are using? it's just what I've been looking for!

It is a Wanderer (Old german bike company) Touring fork that I got unpainted as it is for little money on ebay. It was listed by a small bikeshop that had it lying around several years ago.
Its made out of aluminium and weights a ton. I don't think it is something you can find easily these days. -

Somehow I ended up buying this Gunnar Crosshairs today, it's just... perfect.

That's well nice but I'd remove the spacers and put a 6° stem
-
• #7838
is slammage still a thing ?
I may try other stems but at the moment i am pretty fond of an horizontal thomson -
• #7839
Just an opinion, if possible I like the stem in the same angle than the toptube

cranks are pretty ugly

46/30 or 48/31
shimano subcompact dreams are real -
• #7844
Hopefully they have the sense to sell a subcompact crankset for <£100. Commuters and gravelbois everywhere rejoice
-

46/30 28 rear would be my dream ratio. Switch to single 38 front for cross racing. No more half kilo cassettes
-
• #7846
I'll definitely be thinking about moving back to a double if it's reasonably priced
-
• #7847
Though tbf I'll still have a big-ish cassette. Bags and legs dictate it
-
• #7848
48/31 make the most sense for everything else, paired with 11-28 get you a very usable gears range than you would get with 50/34
-
• #7849
This is what I'm doing except with 11-36 for more touring ratio. I use a downtube shifter on the front ring so that I can swap over to single ring in a few minutes

dunno how the chainrings got smaller but the crank is like 110g heavier than r8000 50-34? annoying.
still great news. too bad the gs rd doesn't (apparently?) work with 2x so we can have 2x with an 11-40 in the rear.
Cheers! I was looking at this... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stone-CX-Road-Single-Chainring-BCD-110mm-Narrow-Wide-For-SHIMANO-SRAM-FSA-Rotor/283205206357?var=583625433107
@Landslide its a double chains but I'm going to bin off the smaller ring so run it single...
@fredtc that hope looks ok, a bit garish, but ok...
