Bad/lazy translation 25kph is the eu speed limit for them which is 15.6mph the uk speed limit for them.

25 quid work stand

They call it a bike assembly stand, I assume this is because if you attempt to do any work using one you find it’s pretty useless.

I can confirm. I have this one and the head falls off it every so often (with the bike)
I torqued the bolt that holds it on as much as I could and it threaded. So I put a different bolt on there. Now the clamping part of the plastic has torn away. Will be looking for another stand I think.

Nah my flat mate has one of those and it’s been abused for like 3 years now and it’s still fine. Yes it’s plastic and not solid but you don’t need anything more to do home mechanics.
I’ve just built a frame out of the stand. -

In fact... (excuse the mess)

Is the secret to using this stand to always use the clamp vertically?
-
• #761
No ours is really solid at the clamp. Maybe you got a duff

I have the same (other color though) and you can't fault it for the money imo.

Aside from when you need to fit/remove cranks/bb/pedals (or even a rear mech) and have to put the bike on the floor instead. It’s a flimsy piece of shit, happy to disagree (I’m right). I’m a long suffering victim of this stand, will eventually give it away and get a park one.

I got the park on sale for not much more few years ago. It's solid. Used one of the legs as a lever on a wrench to extract a stuck bb.

Yeah I had the head fall off mine once, luckily I broke the bikes fall with my head so not much damage done. Apart from that one incident, it's been good enough for what I need it for. It's not amazing but not bad enough to make me want to spend 3x the price on something better.

TBF I don't think any clamp-type stand (except possibly the wall-mounted workshop ones?) is ideal for that kind of high-torque work; I've got a Park PCS-10, and if I'm fitting cranks or a BB I just use it to keep the bike upright on the floor rather than as a support in its own right.

I wouldn’t want to be putting 40Nm into cranks while any of the frame tubes are clamped

Hold the bike with your other hand.

This bums me out because I'm exactly the type of person who needs a stand like this (cheap, rickety, good enough)
Maybe I'll just buy another one.

This is going to the best "cheap" stand. Proper locking head

I too have the Aldi one and think it's a bit cack
-
• #773
Yeah, that seems quite nice
-
• #774
I've got that one, second hand for £10 or something. Good enough for me.
I've used Park ones and still had to take it out for BB/cranks

Ultimately there seems to be one design for stands at this price point. For knocking out bearings, applying torque, removing pedals etc I’d always want the bike with wheels attached resting on the floor.
I expect that speed would be the result of a translation/transcription error--should be limited to 25kph and they put mph instead.
The e-bike market is a bit of a Wild West, though.
