I've already got Salad, Radish, Brussel Sprouts, Leeks, and Beetroot in from memory but there's plenty more that can go in. Pretty sure carrots, parsnips and the like can go in too.

We've got carrot seedlings coming up already. This weekend could be a bit chilly tho

I sowed this last weekend;

and have planted these out this week; but looks like you could still sow from seed;

Edit: @dicki when the leaves wilt/turn yellow IIRC

Yes, thought so... Planted those marigolds, I'll leave it to nature... Randomly saw a bee just mooching about amongst my veggies today so they are around... Bok Choi is looking wonderful... I think it's just the peppers and courgettes that are suffering, everything else seems to be doing fine...

Next year! This is an experimental quasi-FODMAP veggie bed... 😊
I really have no idea what I am doing...

Talk to me about lawns.
I just had ours cut (as we have now mower) and it's patchy to say the least.
Our plan is to reseed the bare bits, overseed the rest with grass, and also overseed the lot with clover.
There's a bit of moss here and there, which I can rake out, but should i also be considering hiring an aerator to give the lawn a once over?

Dig the lot up and grow nuff veg?
Raking out the moss and reseeding will certainly help. Aerator will help if your ground is super dense/compacted but I know lots of our customers have had great success just with those spiked overshoes you can get. That and just lots of mowing. Dig your weeds out instead of dumping Monsanto crap all over the shop... -

First plantings in the polytunnel.. salads, herbs and sweetcorn grown from seed in modules. Tomato, chilli, aubergine to follow. Lovely and warm in there even on an overcast day.

Dig the lot up and grow nuff veg?
One day, when we don't need the play space, maybe.
Dig your weeds out
I've been doing that for the past few months, armed with a dandelion digger - Slow & steady, and there's very few there any more.
The soil is loamy, but full of stones & crap. The spiky shoes sound like fun.

Dig your weeds out
This deep root weeder from b&q is great for getting dandelions right out.
The hand hoe is also ace for weeding borders.
Highly recommended.

I used the Wilko moss killer and the lawn went black and smelled of burning chemicals.

Now the sun is going down is it safe to say that it's World Naked Gardening Day today?

Check the pack. The cheapest moss killer is iron sulphate. Did your dying moss-filled lawn smell slightly of rotten eggs?
(Something reducing the sulphate to hydrogen sulphide). -

Why clover?
The moss killer lawn fertilizer stuff is good. Although I thought it was best to put down in winter.
Basically grass likes; sun ,water and mowing. Take care of those and it will outperform anything else growing on the lawn.

Why clover?
Lower maintenance than grass, looks nicer than grass, does a good job of crowding out other weeds.
It's not as hard wearing, but as it's a grass mix, that shouldn't be a problem.

weed it, seed it, feed it, mow mow mow mow mow
It’ll come up but not overnight.

6 months later:
It was like a mattress, thick with moss so it's taken a while for the grass to grow into the gaps and weeds are starting to appear again.
-
• #3122
How does that hand hoe work? I'm baffled.
-
• #3123
Pull it through bedding soil, between your plants, and it uproots any little seedling weeds. Quick and easy.
The lower edge of the box goes through soil, under the weeds.

Is this friend or foe?

Well it's turned your hand green and scaly.
It looks like a cabbage (small) white butterfly and is not friendly to cabbages and other brassicas.
What food crops could be planted from seed, outdoors this weekend?
