• First time I'm asking so no idea.... The rega looks good though. But I'm just trying to get a feel for it.

  • Things can break on older decks - hinges, buttons, switches etc. Arm bearings and platter bearings can get rough, motors can get wobbly.

    Japanese decks are generally well made, and time was when you could pick up a not trashed SL1210 for under £300 which made a lot of sense as a no nonsense hifi deck. I suspect any good ones out there command a fair bit more £ now.

    I would definitely be looking at Rega and ProJect if I wanted something low hassle.
