I have a Sram Rival 10 speed short cage mech. I want to use this in a cobbled together 1x build.
I'd also quite like to use a larger rear cassette, 32 tooth, but possibly 36 I understand the mech is rated at max 28t, and online opinion is that this rating is correct (i.e. not conservative).
Will using a drop link give me the necessary clearance for a 32? More? Is total chain capacity going to become an issue?
Yeah, I know the right answer is buy the right components, but I'm wondering if the addition of a cheap bit of metal will help me get this build done at lowest cost. If the answer is a resounding no, I'll be on the look out for cheap EA mechs.
