Is that a carbon seatpost?
Also decent 140mm quill stems are quite rare I think. -

Loving the caad12 so far. Think I've got the fit pretty much right so I can start thinking about trimming the steerer and getting a nice carbon seat post. Also trying very hard not to order a set of nice carbon wheels... No logical reason why I need them but it would be nice.
For some reason it feels more akin to a hardtail MTB than a roadie, very good fun. Maybe it's just my old school mindset... Disc = dirt trails ...

The transition between the seat tube and the stay / top tube cluster is so curious.

Oh my.

There's a matching part where the seat tube meets the BB. I don't know if it's really a separate tube that sits in the rest of the frame like a sort of lugged construction or whether it's just moulded in, i.e. artificial.

typical cannondale mtb you need a van load of spares and a team of mechanics to keep the suspension functioning on a day out

I picked up this rather lovely and as far as I can tell completely untouched 2002 R500 on eBay. Going to give it a bit of a clean and a service, and debating whether I should modernise it at all - the tiagra groupset is a little clunky, but everything is pretty much unworn - it can't have done more than a few hundred miles. Even the bar tape is original. Thoughts, advice?

They managed to make a hidden seat-post clamp more ugly/obvious than a regular one ...
Pop a setback post on it dude, should take a bit of the stiffness out and it might balance out needing a 140 stem
