Their face to face customer service can be a bit arsey - can't think of another way to put it. I could definitely see there being a link between their massive increase in business and having less energy for interaction in the shop. Had the same down the phone as well tbh. Doesn't make me want to part with my hard earned when the person serving you seems to be visibly annoyed by your enquiry.

But then again, why would they want to spend time with a customer looking to spend a comparatively small bit of cash when they're doing so much business online? Their Google reviews seem to have a few people making similar complaints about the service too.

  • Are they like BLB circa 2010?

Steady demand, decreasing supply and margin. Hard to scale unless start selling something else.

I've emailed them about a camera and didn't get a reply, subsequently tried ringing and I either get engaged or no one picks up.
It is what it is I guess, reasonable prices and lots of varied stock rolling through the shop making them busy. I like Ffordes, but they don't seem to get the stock that WYC gets.

Mebbe one for @ᛠᛙᚺᚣ✻ᛕᛙᚺᛥ - are there any German or Austrian online camera shops you'd recommend ? Mostly looking at '50s Voigtlander & Zeiss Ikon stuff at the moment anyway...

This is the kind of service I associate with specialist shops of most kinds, definitely had it in other camera shops...
