it has been revealed that when he drove his Sainsbury's lorry into
Jaiden Mangan, Dean Phoenix was on licence from prison after murdering
his wifehttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-48066113
As the defendant was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court, Jaiden's father stormed out, shouting: "Is that it? You got a year for killing my son?"
.

My God, what a horrendous case.

Disqualified from driving for 18 months though so that's fine.

What a sell out...

Guy parked illegally gets 3 year driving ban, convicted murderer who squashed a toddler on a zebra crossing while ignoring a red light in a truck - in exactly the same incident - gets 18 month driving ban. WTAF?
-
• #56360
Ridiculously it’s probably to do with truck driving wife killer guy not actually wanting to murder anyone (on this occasion) whereas cunt parking guy deliberately parked like a cunt. They can both get in the sea, obviously.

Paul Rogers, defending, said the car parked on the zig-zag lines had contributed to the situation.
There are so many scenarios that can be played out safety.

Russians capitalise upon Jeremy Hunt's largesse
If this 'winner' cannot make afford to run London LIve any more,
surely, the franchise should revert to the DCMS,
and another auction be organised,
to enrich the public coffers,
rather than the Lebedevs?
(Whenever I, rarely, glance at the channel in the Program Guide of our Humax,
London LIve seems to be showing, yet again that Danny Dyer opus 'The Football Factory'). -

Irish Times today:

2/3rds of people say Ireland is something that is so fuzzily defined we still have learned nothing about what they really think ;)

Not surprised. Out of curiosity, are all of the trains being replaced by new ones, or is it one of those cases where you get a some chance of getting on a new train but also quite a big chance of being on the old one?
-
• #56369
All the Caledonian Sleeper trains to Scotland are being replaced, I think the last services are due to switch at the start of June.
The Night Riviera to the South West is keeping the old trains but they have been refurbished.
-
• #56370
Ah nice. I've thought about using one before, but the old trains did not look particularly inviting, to be honest. I hope they get their 'teething problems' under control soon then.

• #56371
You should probably hurry up, UK doesn't do maintenance particularly well.

Quite a powerful article here on the Home Office, re: Windrush and other scandals (and the general erosion of standards of public administration):

Grayling burns through another £50m quid of our money...
(This will obviously pale into insignificance vs the billions that will go up the spout once HS2 falls flat on its arse, and then also compared to the half-a-billion cost of the probation system fuck-ups, god-knows-how-much for his DWP 'reforms' that have made life unbearable for thousands of people, rail timetable shambles, etc. - all of which were warned against and promptly ignored)
You'd think that when one man's incompetence can be measured in the billions of pounds, it might be time to let him go?
-
• #56374
the money is clearly going top the people manning the gallows. they aren't going to hang their meal ticket...

Yes, he does come across as being in the “someone’s useful idiot” category. There's only so long someone can cling on after all the shite he's been responsible for though. So they must be storing his resignation up until after the really big payday...
You're being a bit harsh.
If you check his twitter you'll see that his dog sneezed on his phone and that's the real reason he accidentally tweeted the article. He was in no way endorsing it.
