It must be frusturating but he's less than 30km behind skinny, so it looks like he could stay in the game if he continued the race now. As a race. If the bike works again.

He still has to go back to where he left the route. That's another 70km.

Oh yeah, damn.
That won't take long if he uses a car though. Which is allowed in some races but kind of not in the spirit, couldn't find the rules for the ID now. But yeah.
