With laptop, I'd go for a rack and pannier option to protect it, you're gonna want to ditch the backpack once summer hit London.
I've considered using panniers but in the end decided to stay with the backpack solution. I've been doing that for years, so I'm not exactly new to it - this is just an opportunity to get something actually made for cycling!

I'd go with an SQR slim. Big enough for a laptop and doesn't sag.
