Extra flat or wide braze-on downtube cable stops

  • Hi there,

my Nishiki frame has aero bosses for the shifters (originally Suntour Symmetric). But i've got this part now as a converter.

Can anyone recommend some esp. wide or flat adjustable downtube cable stops?

Guess with typical ones, the adjusters may collide with the frame....

  • Normal ones upside down and on the wrong side?

  • Could be a solution - but trying to avoid it aesthetically, also would make the cable routing even weirder...

  • The Campagnolo ones will flatten out when you tighten them up it's not going to be a great looking solution though.

Problem Solvers do a bolt on stop that might be a better option?

    Which one do you mean?

The bolt on stop is still a last resort, but trying to avoid it. Leaves the existing boss uncovered and looks somehow clumsy...

  • They're made for round tubes, but the plastic is soft enough that they'll fit flush once they're tightened up.

  • Ah - that's a valuable tipp. The LBS just had the Campa ones and couldn't order any flat shimanos...

  • Just to answer this finally: Shimano does flat ones for aluminium frames.
After grinding some little nose on the socket I have they fit tightly and still have space for turning the adjuster...
