Any frame builders on the forum ? Front derailleur braze on boss / mount alignment question.

I am going to braze on a front derailleur boss / mount on to my frame ( the seat tube is oversize so I cannot use a clamp on boss ) I have studied the Campagnolo specs for this but they a little hard to make sense of .
I am thinking of mounting the front derailleur onto the boss ensuring that it is centred, the fit the BB and
Crankset, using the outer chainring as the reference point , then mark the mounting point for the boss on to the seat tube .

Any pointers from the experts would be gratefully received .
