Any specific concerns?
-
• #2503
Well, not anymore. Tested it now. I have ordered a wider BB and I have to move the chainring to the inside unfortunately :(
-
• #2504
Ah, that's too bad
-
• #2505
Not too bad I guess

Wouldn’t be possible to just flip the whole spider?
-
• #2507
I tried that. It looks a bit weird
-
• #2508
Weirder than chainring on the inside? ;)
One way or another, it’s a dope crankset so whatever works -
• #2509
:)
Chainline is 47mm on the inside so pretty much ideal. I'll try building it up and place chainring on the outside.

Looks fine on the inside I reckon. At least the tabs are fully anodised.
If anything how about a svelte bashring on the outer position?
-
• #2511
Yeah bash guard is in my thoughts, but I paid quite a lot for the chainring so I'd like to flash it a bit :)

You know what you need to make then?
Bull moose loop bar...
I’ll let you have that one for free -

Genius

Ta.
I am tempted by the chunky Thomson som eother min loop bars I have back in DK + running the carbon forks I have. It will be a while before I can take this bike packing and it would be fun to have it set up light weight with semi slicks for summer. I will have time to try both I reckon and let that decide

ALSO I am picking up my frame from @Manson7am tomorrow. Watch this space...

both so strong, I'd go for the bullmoose to match the aesthetic
-
• #2518
Thanks. I agree bullmoose go well with the steel forks.

Wew!

Perhaps I missed it, but what’s this decaleur? Is it just a bar extender with an eccentric disc insert?

Yes. I made the the eccentric part. Real easy to do. Just drill hole off center and cut a groove. Disc is cheap 22.2mm alu and tube is 10mm

This is great work, both of you.
Inspiring stuff you do @Manson7am! -

I will take some better photos when I get a chance.
But lovely hand made finish to it all...

And here with frame pump and bars...
Not sure if this is the right headset for it.

Yeah they look the part.
But as you can see I had to do some milling to make it fit. The spider didn't fit which makes me think there was a difference in arm angles from between MTB and Road big foots.
Hopefully it will work. If not it was a very expensive experiment :(
