Finestre's just a great road, no? Climb or descend. I'd be happy either way. There's only a couple of climbs that I'd want to avoid and they're options on the route anyway.

I'm in a similar position. I've been looking at the alpkit pipedream 400 and the seatosummit treeline t11. Are they any better quality than the decathlon? I was about to make the plunge on the alpkit until I read the reviews and a few people said it is not as warm as they claim.
The decathlon looks to have the most feathers but not the lowest temperature rating. Are they just bullshitting less.

@Saffronspokes Sleeping Bag thread >>>>>>>>
-
• #2010
the only really important thing in a sleeping bag is the fill power of down, for a given weight.
the higher number, the warmer it will be.the decathlon is 800 fill
alpkit is 750
seatosummit is a pathetic 600generally no point buying anything less than 800 fill. so get the decathlon one unless you want to pay less, in which case borrow from friends, or buy a second hand 800+ fill bag

Sweet. Thanks for the advice, trusty old decathlon it is.
-
• #2012
Hmm do I buy this and sell my Alpkit? Will it be much warmer?

Do you know if theres a decent synthetic version of this out there?
-
• #2014
synthetic sleeping bags are a waste of time unless you go really high end - as tucas is the only one I rate

Cycling down to Cornwall over a few days at the end of May and struggling a little bit picking out my wild camping spots... Trying to suss out a spot in Cranborne Chase and somewhere between Tiverton and Exebridge. If anyone knows the areas better than me/has done a similar trip, could you drop me a pm please? I mean, I can find places to camp out of view but I'm after those triple A camp feels - it's meant to be a holiday, so everything should be excellent.

Try around Stourhead.
Equally it's a beautiful place to have a poke around and break up a days riding.
-
• #2019
Excellent shout! Have done Stourhead as a youngster. Intial search seems promising and it's only a slight deviation from the planned route. Tip top thanks!

Planning a chilled touring loop for the next bank holiday weekend.
The idea is to take the train to Gloucester and then ride around the Wye/Cotswolds AONBs, any tips on trails/routes/what to see/avoid/campsites?
Going with the gf so the idea is to do 40/50km a day and just chill

I've just done 1200km (12000 m of climbing) through Japan and am undecided whether I should do a thread post on it..
Here is the route I used as a guideline:

And here is me in Japan:

Umm, I think yes, you should do a thread on it.

Yes. Yes you should.

You definitely should

Thinking of doing a little 2/3 day tour on my own somewhere outside of London (but easy to get to) early this summer. Does anyone have any suggestions or good routes?
Not too hilly, some off road welcome. Would be nice to do around 30/40 miles a day with camping
Thoughts on wild camping solo as a woman?
if you're 6ft or longer, this just came up on ebay
