The one where seager almost got everyone’s bikes locked to the pub.

Were there beers?
Great ride despite my early arrival and shit route choice out. Riding next to bough beech was ace.
Also @youramericanlover was sandbagging and turned up the screw as soon as we started up Polhill. Definitely an official smashfestina.

There was almost more than one pint... when my lock decided to shit the bed outside the pub.
What a fantastic story that would have been if it weren’t for the fact that the lock was defeated by a posh kid from Surrey and a butter knife...

Close one! Good thing his knives cut through locks like his directorships cut through tax regulations.
That's a nice route, might need a little tidy 2/3 the way through otherwise it's a winner. Was so quiet last night!
Good tailwind on the way home. It was a bit wasted on me but certainly made it easier to get back into town.

Haha was this the cable lock you had at the White Bear?

...I was so smug about it as well. I sacrificed it to the Southern Rail gods in the end.

I thought that route was like our seats on the train out - first class! Would be great to do again closer to solstice with more light.

Yep. Cracking route. Doesnt need much tidying IMO.
Sunset reservoir flyby was my highlight.
The climbing after the last climb was the low light. If you could flatten that road out a bit, that would be great.

I'll drop INEOS a line. They like cycling and fucking up the countryside, I'm sure they could do a job on those last bumps over the top of Bayleys for us.
HB Remy! A little bit of planning and negotiation (and coffee in the morning) and TNRC with a wee bairn is completely doable. Will be great to see you again, hope it's soon
