How functional is zap? Is it consistent or abit intermittent, generally?

I don't know yet =)
I've heard mixed reviews. But Boardman used it for 8 years apparently so that has to point towards it at least being serviceable. -

You should be fine, unless someone else is using rc cristals nearby...

Also don't ride under, over, or near any HV power cables - or at least don't do it if you'd like to shift gears. I understand that electromagnetic fields were a real nightmare for using these systems, and even more so for setting them up in the first place!

Surely that refers to Mektronic which was wireless and not Zap which is wired?

I've heard that they were / are both pretty susceptible to interference. YMMV though. Good luck!
Cracking project, by the way! -

Finally got some pics of the the Barreau.
Will try to get some of the new Columbus Max Swallow too in the next few days.
Also I built up a fixed gear mtb which I'll post about when I get the time.

Excellent. These brakes working with paint job amazing. Love pink handlebar tape. This is so different, piece of art.

Thanks mate! I'm really pleased with it, I do have the correct pedals but forgot to put them on for the photos.

Finally got a picture, I found the matching track frame to the road one above, also built with Mavic Starfish, 520 hubs, Mavic Stem, JPR Seatpost.

Wait, you own that too? Both very very nice.
Need a couples shoot! -

Yeah both mine, both built with full Mavic - same size and paint job. The road version has the outline of a sticker with what looks like the same name that's on the top tube of the track frame. So maybe they were built for the same rider!
Rebuilding and combining some rear mechs. Probably the best part of this group is how easily serviceable all the parts are.
