Assuming MVDP takes to the tour eventually (2021?) is he going to win a lot of green jerseys?
-
• #21003
He certainly could if he wanted to
-
• #21004
Already sick of hearing about MVDP.
"Ooooooh Matthieu, you're so good at bikes. Please fuck my wife wearing a rainbow stripes condom. Make her scream your achievements across multiple disciplines." < literally everyone

Yeah this.
All it takes is a viral infection and he's out of contention for the entire classics campaign.
-
• #21006
Is that a threat?
-
• #21007
Yeah but did you know his dad and grandfather were famous though????????
-
• #21009
Fuck, he looks old.

Apart from Wout.

I've heard you can build up a tolerance to drugs so they're less effective..

GVA's downfall has been missing all the key moves and having a pretty average team. He's always appeared to be on his own pulling the peloton to catch the lead group. His form looked good just not his tactics/timing.

Did Sagan not try some new things for training this year - different schedule and races? Question is, if he changes back/again for next year, can it cover his loss of mojo from this spring?
Was feeling similarly nauseous about mvdp until Amstel

I think the sport of cycling needs more stars, and one who doesn’t fit the existing mould is especially interesting.
He’s a breath of fresh air in the sense that he is very selective in the races he rides, he’s currently competing at the top level in three distinct disciplines and he’s active for most of the calendar year.
No-one knows yet what his long term career will look like, I think there is a high expectation that he’ll focus on road racing but, so far, he’s not indicated that’s his personal goal. If he chooses to drop CX or MTB will that impact on the type of rider he is today? Would riding GTs reduce his explosiveness?
We don’t know, so I think we should just enjoy him for what he is, a super talent who dabbles in road racing.

Only joking. Matthew of the Pool is a prodigious talent and we're lucky to share a planet with him.

For some reason, Cyclingnews doesn't have the results of Stage 3 of the Tour of the Alps from yesterday yet, so here's the race's own write-up:
https://www.tourofthealps.eu/en/masnada-wins-in-baselga-di-pine-sivakov-retains-totas-overall-lead
Complete with picture of Tao and Froome leading Sivakov, who retained the overall. I imagine today's stage will soon be over, too.

I wonder if they're going to glue themselves to any bikes:

Looks like another stage for Tao...
1, Tao Geoghegan Hart
2, Vincenzo Nibali
3, Rafal Majka -

Those are the first auto translate subtitles that don't make me feel like I have taken some heavy hallucinogens.

Would love to see the last 10 kms of today’s Vuelta a Castilla y Leon in Spain. Movistar, the only WT team in the race have 4 riders in a 10 man race winning move and somehow conspire to finish 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th.

Looks like the Movistar "winner" got relegated
On Twitter he seemed to be blaming illness and the subsequent recovery well into March.
A lot of the talk is fairly standard sports journalism: a mix of stating the fucking obvious (he's not won as many races as he usually does) and mindless speculation ("Is this the end of the Sagan era? Only time will tell" type stuff) Yeah thanks for that gem, Nostradamus.
