For sure. I am well happy, and will be even happier when I have fine-tuned all the niggles.
Apart from the turning circle of a lorry, this thing handles a lot like a regular bike which is a massive bonus. I bombed down one of the shallow inclines home unladen and noticed a bit of speed wobble on the front end, so I can appreciate why they market those steerer dampener kits. I removed the one bought for the diy box bike, but need to drill a crown hole in the on-one forks to use it (or bodge a jubilee clip solution).
For bulky loads I can totally appreciate the box bike solution, but for me I think I’ll make killer use of this longtail. Result.

So the side car pivots? Mad and a bit fun?

Single mom making it work in a tandem converted for child-carrying.

Exactly that, yep. Maybe you’re supposed to clamp it down solid but that wouldn’t make sense - the quills aren’t going anywhere once the steerer tube bolt is locked down. It was awesome. Way nicer than riding with a big/kiddy trailer but not quite as intuitive as a single wheel bob type thing.

Hi all,
I’m new to cargo bikes but I think I’d like one for hauling kids/stuff around. I’ve been thinking of the eBullitt (I live in Brighton so electric would be handy) Is this a good choice - or should I be looking at something else? -
• #2514
Bullits are awesome to ride. eBullit would be a great choice I bet. Maybe test ride one and see if you like it?

Good to hear, thanks.

For people moving- the old Dutch kind are amazing. Much less twitchy than the Bullitt.
Can get e-bike versions as well. -

We've had a Bullitt for two years now, we love it. Had to get a kids seat on the back now though as our two has outgrown the front cargo space. I'm planning to widen it to fit both again, but for now this works well

It's wonderful. Is that in the UK? I wonder if I can find the picture that someone took years ago outside the Coach & Horses of a woman on a triplet. I think she had the kids on that. I think I saw her once years later in the King's Road, although without pasengers. (It may not have been the same person, I just assumed it was because it was such a rare way of getting about.)

Cheers. I can't seem to find the Souths picture now, although I'm sure I've reposted it before.

How big are your kiddos? Electric or normal?
-
• #2522
3 and 6 now, so there's a 100% chance of fights if I squeeze both of them into the standard box. If I can add 10cm each side though I think it'd be fine
Normal. There was an initiative from the Swedish government to subsidise electric bikes but I didn't know about it. They paid 25% of the full price so it'd been same price for me in the end...

I asked on the rack thread but no bites. What are my options for front rack with these bosses on the xtracycle?
After research they look like the Yuba mounts, but that bread basket is silly money.
Is there a way of mounting a much lower cost pizza rack like a Steco?

eBullitt all the way! Though I would sell that as we sell them lol.
Other bikes to look at are the Omnium (handles more like a normal bike), UrbanArrow (handles more like a house), R+M packster 60 or 80cm (easier to set off, but much twitchier at speed, also heavier) and then there are a few smaller production variants (a really nice Swiss made Ti framed beast floating about, price of those is around £10k though). Closest competitor is the Douze in terms of handling, capacity, price and weight. Suggest riding at least the Omnium and the Douze along side the Bullitt before pulling the trigger, they are all around the £4-5k mark.
Rhino bike boxes of Berlin are making a two seat (side by side) arrangement for the Bullitt with proper belts/harnesses, it overhangs the sides by around 7cm IIRC which is less than the bars and puts it in line with the width of a Bakfiets.nl box.
Looks like you've got a belter bike now, feeling jealous
Mines strengthened and built up, rides o.k but turns like an oil tanker, some how need to make the box a bit lighter, was gonna throw my bike in the box and ride home but feeling nervous in 5pm traffic
