Just about perfect. Are those forks 1" threadless?
-
• #1555
Thank you! Yes 1" threadless

10/10
Stem ID? That is probably the slickest 1" shimjob stem I've ever seen.
-
• #1557
Thanks. Yeah i like that stem because its pretty slick so works well with steel tubes even tho its light and modern. Comes with a 12 degree angle which imo is perfect for esthetics on level toptubes. More so than 17degree ppl like to use.
Its an extralite hyperstem in stealth black. (not all that stealthy but better than the non stealth which has white logos).
The entire bike sits just above 7.8kgs with cheat wheels installed. Not to shabby for a chromed 60cm bike. But more importantly its superb to ride! Im super happy with this one, i was suprised how much i like it actually. Currently its all i ever ride unless it rains.

Did they make the Air forks in threadless or did you get the steerer extended?
I'm currently building a chromed Fausto Coppi, can't decide whether to keep the original forks or not as I hate the threaded stem! -
• #1561
Yes they will reluctantly take orders with threadless 1" steerers

@SeƱor_Bear
Sorry for dredging this up but as someone who is finding threaded forks and quill stem making for a strange and flexi front end on my steel framed bike have you ridden enough to give an opinion on your threadless 1" Hylix forks yet? Also did you incur any extra import / VAT or was it just the cost and postage to pay?
Thanks in advance. -

Amazing with the wound-ups, is it an old frame though?

When I had my woodrups re-sprayed, I had the fork column changed to allow a 1" aheadset.

• #1565
It's not my bike, but it have a 1" head tube so I think it quality
-
• #1566
Mine have been good. I do worry about them snapping on a 80kph descent but I think it's just in my head.

About to pull the trigger on this one, full 6600 groupset and overall good condition, for around 300 euros complete. Only missing a lighter saddle (Flite TT), lighter tires and 6800 pedals. Yay or nay?

That's nearly 20 years ago. Feel old yet?

To be honest after writing that I did just have to stare at it aghast a little while.
