Supposedly if it's more than 12 hours you might be able to argue for a full refund and cancellation but it depends on the airline. I had my flight changed when I went to Spain to ride for a few days. They changed my outbound so it landed 5 hours before my return flight which is obviously stupid so I got a full refund.

Are you not on the Tuesday flight?
-
• #554
Yeah, but now it's a Tuesday flight that arrives Wednesday. I was on a Tue flight that arrived Tue.
-
• #555
Ok, we are on the same page again. I misunderstood your previous comment.
04:00 is a crappy time to be arriving for check-ins etc.
We still don’t know when we are starting which is a bit annoying with the change. -

It means that we have a hotel booking for a night we're not going to be there and then on my partner's return flight she will need to book another night's stay. Pretty annoying.
With so many events on, it's a real juggling act to try and get everything right. First the dyke closure adding 200k to RaTN, then the idiot Spanish airline telling me to book my bike on but not speaking any English to allow me to do it, now these TCR flight changes. It makes me wonder why I bother trying to sort anything out in advance at all. I should go back to school days when I just left everything to the night before and fucking smashed out an award-winning essay. /rant -

Are there other airlines that fly to Burgas? Wizz, Norwegian...
-
• #558
Jet2 and Tui from my searches so far
-
• #559
Varna is another option
-
• #560
There's a 7:10am Wizz flight on the same day.
-
• #561
That’s a 5:30 bag drop though I’d guess!?
-
• #562
Oh, yeah, that's probably why I dismissed it. I forgot about that.. since I'd booked it ages ago like a fucking good little boy, Wizzair, you dicks.
-
• #563
Norwegian have 19:55 and 20:45 flights out with a stop.
-
• #564
Abort!!! That 'stop' is a whole day!
-
• #565
LuxAir from City... for £800+
-
• #566
Looks like it's either miss a night's sleep due to shitty flight times or pay to stay in a hotel near an airport for one of the early ones.
-
• #567
Thomas cook 6:15 from LGW. May be more accessible than Luton an hour later though.
-
• #568
Luton is closer to us. I'd go out to Luton the night before and there's lots of cheap hotels nearby. Of course, this assumes I can change the flight.
-
• #569
You can change due to how much the flight has been moved.
-

We'll have a look tonight but I'm thinking staying somewhere the night before and getting an early Luton flight is better than flying at night, staying awake for the flight and arriving having missed an entire night's sleep at 4am. I'm too old for that shit nowdays.
-
• #571
I’d agree, although another cost and night away from the family.
-
• #572
That sounds really shit. An overnight flight for that distance doesn't make sense.
I'm on the early morning one from Luton on the Wednesday.
I haven't worked out how I'll get there. Could get an early cab or the trains run pretty much all night so might just get a cab to West Hampstead or somewhere like that.
It's hardly worth booking a hotel to have to get up at 4am so the other option is to kip in the airport. I've done that at Gatwick before an early flight but Luton is apparently not so good for camping out.

Get used to the moneygun.gif coming out if you're doing these events. I'm dragging my 'family' with me. Actually, it was her choice, she's never been to Bulgaria.
-
• #574
Actually I remember now - when I looked at it there was a decent hotel that was pretty cheap near the airport, but I said I'd leave early in the morning so that it wasn't (yet) another night away from home

What's the latest checkin time for a 7am flight? If I stay nearby I should be able to get up at 5am and make it, no? Plus the cab will cost us more than the hotel. Not sure what the buses out there are like but wandering around Brent Cross at 4am doesn't sound like fun.
Dunno yet. It affects the missus more as both of her flights are changed and she's got the accom. booking. So we might agree or maybe change to something more useful. I'd rather not ruin a night's sleep the a day before I ruin two week's worth.
