Pelago commuter, Wald 1392 basket and Restrap medium wald bag. Great setup, my favourite commuter setup so far. Going to use the same setup with 2 small panniers and a frame bag later in the year for touring.

I haven’t, if you’re using bolted hubs rather than nutted you could maybe find some wider spacers and run longer bolts to help it clear the dropout lug?

Good plan. Will botch it in the mean time somehow

Hey TM - why the Wald basket too and not just the bag on the rack?
-

Well, the bag is designed specifically to fit the basket? Wouldn’t work without it.
I like the basket and bag setup for various reasons, the basket is also useful without the bag (generally more useful than just the rack alone)

Are these bosses on my new-to-me xtracycle for fitting a ‘proper’ front rack? If so, what rack?

Needing to replace a front rack after it's died. Looking for a rack for touring that can be taken off and put in a bike box for travelling - making porteur racks less attractive given the need to disassemble and reassemble.
Current front runner is Surly's Nice Rack 2.0 Front but it weighs a lot (1382 gram) but flipside is that it can carry a decent load.
Tubus Grand Expedition looks like it would hit the spot but doesn't look like it would hit the spot. There's also Tubus' Tare and Duo racks but do like the option of lashing items on top and definitely reduced load carrying capacity.
Have I missed anything in particular?

Blackburn Outpost is the same design as the Surly, for less than half the weight and cheaper.
Rated to 20kg, there is a little bit of flex when you load it up fully but hardly a big deal.
Very easy to mount, and also to add my dynamo lamp too. -

Flat front rack suggestion for a 26" mtb please. Or anyone selling?
Thanks -

Yeah thats the kind of rack and price i was looking for.

Same. The canti mount ones you can get from SJS and others are nice (I have one) but don't work on my surly forks.

I don't really use mine much if anyone wants to take it off my hands?

Yes, but beware I've had some badly designed steel forks on which they wouldn't fit correctly. The brake can also interfere... Only one way to find out really :)
