The issue I have with PHEV at the moment is the range on them sucks. So they work if you do lots of short (sub 20 mile) journeys, but as soon as you go above that then they are no better than an efficient petrol car.
I have the outlander phev currently as a company car, it is fine, just a bit meh and boring. Real life electric range is about 18 miles, which is perfect for me, as majority of my journeys are relatively short. My colleague has the hyundai ioniq, awful looking thing, but actually decent enough in size, and gets get mpg when the electric does run out.
i'm getting rid of mine in six months, and switching to a jaguar i-pace...
Is there anything close to a forum approved PHEV (ideally in estate / family sized flavour)?
I need a car, have a drive, would prefer to minimise emissions - there just isn't loads out there (particularly 2nd hand), wondered if anyone had been through the same thought process...
