  • straight forward win in the end after serious pressure for the first 20 mins by porto

just a small matter of barca up next, love the champions league

    coyrs

  • Defo hit his arm and looked like ref pretended it only hit his thigh. Erickson also deserved to lose for woeful play at the end. Bet he shat his pants good and proper then.

  • I didn't see it hit his arm in any of the replays I saw.

I'm pleased for Spurs anyway . Much rather see them go through than City.

  • Not Eriksen's best game, was fucked off when he gave the ball away for City's winner/not winner! And he missed a couple of easy (for me to say) passes to set us off on the counter.
But he'll learn and he'll win us games between now and the end of the season..

    Still buzzing!!!

  • Absolutely Exhausted COYS

  • Fuck Yeah!!!!!

  • Any more crawling out of the woodwork?

  • Can imagine City will feel they went out undeservedly. If VAR can’t see that the ball hit his arm than what’s the actual point of VAR.

  • This... Plastic season well under way...

  • sadio mane is fast becoming my fave liverpool player
strong quick skillful hardworking, i'd see either of the other front two sold before him

he's improved every year since he arrived
he's kept us firing since january

    #heartsadio

  • after Van Dijk he has been Liverpool's best player this season.

  • just saw the highlights of the game last night. couple of bullshit goals - the first Son one and the B Silva one. but otherwise good stuff. I say the Llorente goal should have stood. But I think the last Sterling one should have stood too - shit football from Eriksen who nearly threw that away for Spurs.

  • There was some shocking defending on both sides last night. They get to do it again on Saturday.

Both those goals would have stood without VAR. It’s going to take some getting used to in the Prem.

  • ding ding : round 3

  • doh !

  • Had chances to get a result today. Son especially, had runs in on ederson and forced him to make saves when you’d think he would have put it in the back of the net.
City were well up for it. Got quite testy at times.
Felt we were better than them second half, might have been with de bruyne off injured, only real attacking danger was Bernardo silva.
City seemed really open today, not sure if our familiarity with them means we can see the openings more clearly, but son and moura’s pace on the counterand runs off the shoulder of stones and Laporte, onto balls over the top, seemed to set them clean through every time..

  • City without Fernandinho are downright flimsy.

Every game in the recent trilogy could have gone either way really. I hope Spurs are allowed to kick on next year and make it a three-way title race.

  • I second that emotion.
Not wanting to get ahead of the race for the final two Champions league places.
But we’ve got a lot of transfer work to do in the coming off season, to make sure we can sustain the momentum of the last couple of seasons.

Eriksen is probably leaving, as is Toby, and llorente, need to move out janssen, n’koudou, Wanyama, if he doesn’t come back to some sort of form and reliability.
So need an attacking/passing/creative midfielder, a holding midfielder, central defender, back up/rotation striker and another pacy winger/attacking mid. Probably need a box to box midfielder as well. And if one of aurier/Trippier goes a right full back on top of that.

Lot of transfer action and lots of money to get some of the players we’ve been linked to. We could be helped by chelsea’s upcoming transfer ban, and the fact Man City could be in the same boat if the der spiegel revelations are acted on. Could leave the field open for us to swoop on some coveted youngsters.

But pochettino and levy need to pull the trigger. And us getting this close to champions league glory, but breaking down in the league despite not buying anyone for two transfer windows, could be the impetus.

But what do I know I thought last season levy would pull the transfer trigger and all we got was him playing chicken with villa for grealish.

  • Appointing Solskjær as a permanent manager is looking a bit premature right now.

  • Glad Everton could do us a favour. Seems like silva is getting them back on track after a dip in form ‘mid season. Hoping they don’t play as well against us.

Was listening to football weekly, and the suggestion was made that solskjaer’s 3 year contract probably has break clauses after years one and two, so they can ditch him without penalty if required..

  • Good to see Arsenal won't let Man United finish 6th without a fight

    great twitter feed, lol

  • Palace doing us a favour as well.
    Eagles!

  • lots of wet sheets yesterday. be mental if Chelsea soil theirs today. does anyone even want champions league.

loving the battle for the top spot though. really hope it goes down to the final day.

and they have to decide it on penalties
