  • Yep, I can't wait until mini-me can start cycling but will hate moments like that.

  • How very dare you! Matt Hoffman is a bloody legend

  • No worries :)

Most people are still fine just the occasional dimwit. They didn't go that fast, I think the awareness is just not always there that 50 cm is just a wee bit tight...

  • (other than complete segregation)

Does there need to be another solution? Well strict filtering of side roads I suppose but for the majority of main roads the answer is right there!

  • Where did all the fenkin flying bug life come from? Clouds of winged shit.

  • First complete shorts day today, albeit Endura baggies over Lycra. Just a shirt on the way home too, and short-fingered gloves. Marvellous.

  • Side effect of the fresh air caused by the climate protests.

  • A bird did a poo onto my new Rapha wind jacket this morning...trying to tell me something?

  • It's meant to be good luck or something isn't it? Not sure why

  • Fresh? Pollution level have been sky high last few days.

  • Yeah I was thinking "This does not look healthy" yesterday evening when I saw this:

  • Is haze like that always caused by pollution? Seemed really misty last night, even in the 'burbs... was hoping it was just natural mist.

  • The cycle in this morning and the cycle home tonight are going to feel like they were in seperate seasons. Gonna boil on the way back.

  • It's either going to be water vapour or particulates (or both), I guess.

Anyway, LondonAir is at Moderate. The forecast suggests the wind is bringing particulates from the continent to the East, and they're hanging around rather than dispersing.

Anyway, I Am Not A Meteorologist, I just look at that to see how nasty the air's likely to be.

  • It's not always caused by pollution, other causes are things like pollen, smoke, some photochemical gaseous shite that's been emitted somewhere (not necessarily anthropic - plants, microorganisms, volcanoes, whatever), dust, etc. Probably plain old pollution in this case.

    (I'm also not a meteorologist.)

  • I’m not a meteorologist either.

    (I felt left out.)

  • Seemingly I'm the only mug who cycled to work today. Everybody and their grandma seemed to be going in the direction of Richmond Park, and the South.

  • Is it ok to ride through the Greenwich foot tunnel? I've been trying to decide for months...

  • It is against the law.
I do when I go through there at 06:30 in the morning, when the only other users are cyclists.
I don't when I'm going in the opposite direction at 17:00, when there are pedestrians as well as cyclists using it.

  • No.

  • It's usually pretty busy when I use it so I've been walking but literally every other cyclist seems to merrily bomb it through so I was curious whether people thought it was a stupid rule or not.

I'll carry on walking and feeling superior and cope with getting to work 4 minutes later.

  • literally every other cyclist seems to merrily bomb it through

Just to note that any other walking cyclists would not overtake you. Classic example of a confirmation bias. It may well be that the bombers are in the minority.

Apart from ones coming the other way, I suppose. Classic example of an idiotic post. It may well be that my brain cells are in a minority.
