You can get 40% off with gold BC membership. Lemme see if I can find the code, or if someone else here has it etc...
It's useful-ish. I used it last year when training for Ironman Hamburg. Depends how much you like your graphs and stats, and if you train with HR and/or power then you can get various TSS stats.
I don't have it atm because TrainerRoad has a similar calendar feature now that includes runs and swim instead of just bike, and the plan I'm following is in TR anyway so it populates my calendar.
If I had a coach that used TrainingPeaks then I'd probably sign up again. Especially at 40% off.
Edit: found the code... 2019BC40Gold -

Anyone else here doing the Hackney Half this year?

I just did the Paris marathon yesterday. Left foot a bit swollen this morning (particularly the big toe joint - what's that about?) but other than that I'm actually feeling pretty good. Got a sub-5 result which I'm very happy about but I know is nothing compared to people on here; however, almost 12 minutes quicker than last year - and I didn't even train as hard. Thanks to everyone for all their advice :-)

Myself and Otters are doing it. I think Matt Cosmic is signed up too. Running is the new polo apparently

Nice one, great effort! I think the marathon can bring on all sorts of strange pains and niggles as the body fatigues through the race and makes you move in strange ways. Both my feet feel a little beaten up today. Enjoy resting and eating!

Well done! 12 mins off is great work. Let that toe heal up, the big toe takes a lot of force as you "launch" off the foot so probably just the repetitive motion coupled with tiredness as PhilPub says.

The Eton manor w65 runner is 5th fastest in the UK over the marathon this year
She's pretty decent at playing the oboe too (not a euphemism)

Are Runthrough events good, and why are they so expensive?
£26 for a 10k, and you don't even get a t-shirt. Have I been spoiled by Parkrun, or have they just spotted that runners like having their pants pulled down?
-
• #20487
Not uncommon for running events to charge what seems an extortionate amount. £40-50 for a half marathon is becoming normal. Capitalism/greed innit?
Keep an eye out for smaller local events run by a running club/rotary club/LDWA/etc and you'll likely find they are a load cheaper for essentially the same thing.

This!

Smaller and local is the way forward. The bigger the event, the bigger the cost to set up - and the increased likelihood that it's being run for profit. Also, say goodbye to t-shirts and medals if you want cheap.
Parkrun is an anomaly in that it's aimed at getting people exercising and building a community (as I understand it).

Blimey I'm sure they were £20 last year. They do know what they're doing and put on a good event but £26 for a 10K is pushing it.

Has anybody tried getting old race results? I’m currently attempting to collate all of my half marathon times and have managed to track most of them down, but internet search skills have failed me for these:
Bristol 2011 & 2012
Grand Shaftesbury 2012The current organisers of these events were not involved back then, so have been unable to assist. Any thoughts on where I could try next...?

Try one of the local running clubs - they’ve probably got old results in their archive when producing club newsletters, etc

Great shout, thanks

RunBritain holds a big archive, too.
eg Bristol 2011 - https://www.runbritainrankings.com/results/results.aspx?meetingid=43881

The RunBritain database looks good, however, Bristol 2011 only has 5 pages of results, and my time (back then) would put me on page 6 or beyond. Trying to find "Bristol 2012" and "Grand Shaftesbury 2012" is proving tricky.
EDIT The helpful folk at RunBritain just replied to my email with my Bristol times, brilliant, on a bank holiday! Shaftesbury not UKA accredited so they don’t have that one.

That's good work from RunBritain.
A week until London and I think my current plan is to go out at 6.40s, which would give a sub 2.55 finish and a Boston qualifier. It also gives the chance of speeding up at halfway if I am feeling ok. I haven't done enough long runs or enough marathon pace to have a real crack at a pb or near pb time so the aim is to enjoy it.

I thought I was getting faster and then you see a post like that ^ talking about starting fast and speeding up! Best of luck @juanito
My plan is to start out at 8min mile pace, and if I'm feeling fresh ish at mile 18 then try and finish on a faster final 8 miles. Hopefully 3hrs twenty something. Plus signed up for the Strava final mile thingy so aim for the last mile to be the fastest.
Either that or get frustrated by the crowds at the start, angrily overtak everyone and end up running too fast too early and hit the wall at about 22 miles :)
Did a run in Arran today. Saw lots of people yesterday doing the rat race.
I didn't do the rat race. I did do a poo outside though. Coffee, no breakfast, methotrexate the night before. Tbh I'm pleased I made it as long as I did.
