  • Protein powder. Mix it with spices and couscous/noodles/dehydrated veggies. Makes for a quick and easy meal.
    Smoked tofu and seitan last about a week out of the fridge.

    I normally don't worry about protein on trips shorter than 2 weeks. It's not like you'll fade away in such a short time.

    Hmm, surely the accumulated damage on your legs/muscles has an impact though? I suppose it's not the end of the world if the net result is that you're a bit slower. I don't really have any way to figure out the impact/timescales, I ought to do some reading

  • Proteinaholic would be a good place to start. I find that eating enough is more important than hitting the macros.

  • It's all low intensity if touring properly, I wouldn't worry too much about protein specifically, just keeping fuelled.
    I did a multi month tour in the USA vegetarian on tins of beans and peanut butter and honey sandwiches, picking up clif bars and such on the way, and I was fitter than I'd ever been at the end
