No, Amstel is his last race. After that he starts the MTB season.

What it must be to be so talented! I wonder if he’ll be able to transition straight into mtb? It strikes me the power profile, cadence, race duration etc are all totally different?

MVDP? He's been riding the XCO circuit for the last few years and has consistently bothered the podium.

I thought DD said Cav was taking a break from racing?

As I understand it, he’s free of glandular fever but is coming back to racing gradually to ensure it doesn’t flare up again. The focus is on the Tour, assuming he’s healthy.

Dimension Data are having a(nother) shocker of a season though. They seem to have a particular talent for taking promising riders and making them look mediocre.

Sad story. What's his face could raise money to save a velodrome, you'd think some of her sporting contacts could have a whip 'round to get her into a house and/or get her some help to regain some kind of employment.

Three pro-conti teams have more UCI points than DD. Maybe they should snap up Bennett.

If Valgren doesn't perform in the Ardennes then can't see where their wins will come from.
Judging by his current form they could be disappointed. -

Same could be said about CX to road, doesn't seem to bother him.

I think Bennett will be able to choose which team he rides for next season. I’m not sure he’d choose DD.

Don’t discount Gasparotto, he’s in good form and is something of an Amstel Gold specialist.

Kreuziger is a former winner of Amstel but his career might be best with an asterisk against it.

It is sooo sad. I was really looking forward to seeing him this year. But there is a bit too much influencer life currently to be at the sharp end in races.

Cavendish beginning to show some form, finished third today behind Jakobsen and Bennett.

Maybe second if didn’t get impeded by Jakobsen’s leadout?

@Howard @Tijmen oh yeh I realise he’s been doing it, I just think it’s damned impressive. Is he focusing on more road races now or am I just noticing him more (usually cos he’s that guy with his arms in the air at the end!)? Personally I found track to crits ok as I used similar cadence, but track to cx I could never do- used to feel like my back and hamstrings were going to explode from lower cadence! I’m not MVDP though by a long stretch

I hope not. I have lost a lot of love for him this season

Rod Ellingworth leaving Sky to join Bahrain-Merida for next season.
That’ll be a big loss. But I’m very surprised at his choice of destination.

The CN story that triggered Sky's announcement also said B-M team managers didn't know about it

MVDP was a pretty big sprint today.
