It's not always caused by pollution, other causes are things like pollen, smoke, some photochemical gaseous shite that's been emitted somewhere (not necessarily anthropic - plants, microorganisms, volcanoes, whatever), dust, etc. Probably plain old pollution in this case.
(I'm also not a meteorologist.)
Is haze like that always caused by pollution? Seemed really misty last night, even in the 'burbs... was hoping it was just natural mist.
