Yeah, it's annoying there's no real decent accommodation options near Clitheroe, and a bit of a slog up on the train.
I'd happily Air BnB it in someone's garage if it meant more time in bed and less riding to and from the depart tbh! I don't feel like I need to prove anything there.
Otherwise it seems to be a Hobson's choice of a Premier Inn in either Blackburn or Burnley

I've got 4x600s in 4 weeks, this will be the 3rd one, so I will be taking as many comforts as possible. I was even thinking about using the bag drop options but then I might be stuck at the finish having to wait for my kit.

25 or 20km from the start. It's not so bad considering what's coming after. If you stayed in Clitheroe you'd still need to get there on the Fri night which would lose you some time (train or ride?)
If I drove, I could probably find a place to park and sleep in the back of the car. Not great but an option.

There's a hotel with an £80 room left about 12k from the start (23k from Preston).
Train is £90+ return.
I wonder how long it will take to finish this though? Maybe Sunday night?
In which case it might make sense to sleep and then drive back Mon morning.I need to have a look and see how long Tan Hill 600 took me and how long I was stopped for, etc. to have some idea.
