Are there any good studies of the effectiveness of different types of external stimulation for motivation/performance?
Many years ago I wanted to study this for an undergrad project. I was rowing back then so my idea was to get a load of people to do 2k tests with a range of different stimuli including nothing (alone in a room), music, coxed/coached etc.
