I lived and cycled in the NL all my life. It is how it works. Problem is there's too many racy cunts here trying to up their strava game on busy cyclepaths

Yeah, I live in Belgium. Problem is the difference between the racy cunts and the "look-the-sun-is-here-better-find-the-bike-i-haven't-ridden-in-two-years-and-clutter-the-bikepaths". They are both oblivious to other traffic and a bell doesn't help IMO.
