they've got to take 10.291 of travelling off his time, but it says he's done 55.089 km...

He did 55.250 in 1:00:10.291, 55.089 is what you get by interpolating the last lap

Assuming a 16.0 last lap, (1-(10.291/16.0))*250=89

Ah, so the 55.089 was the adjusted time, Ta.

This is really going to put cycling on the map in his home country.
