  • Cheers, good seeing you too! Sorry if I came across as a bit slow in conversation, my brain always needs about an hour to properly kick into gear in the morning... :)

  • Green lights from Walthamstow to Box Park and thought i was onto a winner then every red light after that to Soho. Also watched a lady run every red light from Box Park to Oxford St that had a camera on her helmet...

  • I just saw a highly satisfying thing - you know those people who eat takeaway in their car and then open the door and dump the paper bag? The woman had closed the door and caught the top of both the bags and the car was merrily driving along with them stuck in the door jam. So they'll get where they're going and find their litter has followed them

  • I popped someone's litter back through the (open) rear window of their car. This want back and forth once or twice more before they got annoyed and sped off, but not before I got that litter back in one last time...

    csb...

  • Yeh, well you may have well be happy with that, but you'll find it's the door jamb. :)

  • Thought it was busy down Lower Richmond Road and onto Putney Bridge today, then found out Hammersmith Bridge is closed "indefinitely" for safety reasons.

Putney is a fume fest anyway, but if that's how busy it is during Easter Holidays, it's going to absolutely minging. Not good.

Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to use the crossing from Barnes to Hammersmith

  • Yeah, thats good, but not going to help me, or all the cars and vans that will now back up all the way down the Lower Richmond Road.

  • ah yeah, now I've had coffee I can see I totally misunderstood what you were saying

  • Got to get some bigger tyres and smash it down the Thames path! It’s a nice little ride that takes you all the way to Putney.

  • Nearly took out some gormless jogger yesterday evening on my late commute home. Yes by all means, jog along the road for a while and then just suddenly turn and cross the road without looking, brilliant idea, couldn't possibly go wrong.

  • Commuting via train presumably?

  • Fucking Prius douchebag beeps me off the lights then almost runs into the rider I was going to be passing. Satisfying watching the other rider flip him off too when the prick driver was stopped at next lights.

  • Hello’d a lady riding up from Wallingford towards Reading this morning, towing one of those child-carrier-tent things... with just a very happy-looking black Labrador sat in there.

  • Yes. If I cycled it, I’d never actually get to London and years later, would be found living wild, naked-painted-with-woad, in Hoathly Hill.

  • Sounds like the dream!

I've been doing that train commute for a very long time. It's actually at it's best currently so enjoy it.

  • Best commute of the year today.
Took the mtb along the river path, over the closed Hammersmith bridge and had a few laps and jumps in the new skatepark in Acton Park which was completely empty at 8:30am.
    Would shred again 10/10

  • took the bike I keep at waterloo home to give it a service and touch up, and hence left the bike at the other end in our small village station carpark overnight. Got there this morning and have had my front wheel stolen ffs. Would like to get a wheel similar but have no idea what "mavic ambrosio elites" are... any ideas?

  • I did it for 15 years and it nearly killed me!
Never going to enjoy it, but I do appreciate that -yes- the trains are running approximately on-time : )

  • 3 hours sleep and my gear cable snapped straight away. Had a spare in the shed so replaced it. Only 1 hr 15 late :(

  • So few cars on the road this morning that it could have been a Sunday morning. A taste of how good commuting could be.

  • Cycled from Mile End to Twickenham yesterday, spotted someone in a Miata with their brake light out, politely told him at the next traffic light, was met with “you fucking cyclists think you own the fucking road, etc etc”

Someone was having a bad day...

  • Obvious response is 'you motorists think road tax is a real thing....fucking seatbelt warriors'

  • Get some fucking lights. etc

  • Footenger this morning. I was enjoying the fairly steady stream of people riding past. A reminder that when you ride you see far fewer of your your fellow cycle commuters.

Then a guy rides past on a hard tail with rack and panniers...

    and a monofork.
