  • Actually just followed one of the youtube vids, braced the cranks wrapped in an old towel and brute forced it.
    Similar to this:

  • Anything over 28mm makes you a fraud! But I guess if you want a fun day out...

32 I reckon would give a nice balance. I did it on 28s.

  • Hahaha! I do want to remove it come the CX season as 44 will be way too big for my shit skill level. Who else was racing LCCA last season?

  • Jesus that's great way of losing a toe.

  • I agree but I dislocated my shoulder in November, so now comfort is more important than what I look like 🤠

  • Update: chainring swapped thanks to @Howard lending his lock ring adaptor
Now the joy of fitting gravelkings

  • Also @modan has decided to completely sack off riding a steel bike and (given that he works for them) has a Condor cx bike ready!

  • That can go straight to anti imo. And are those removable canti mounts on the seatstays?

  • CX bikes are always anti, if they aren’t you’re doing it wrong. 😂

I think that is the older version of the condor frame could do either canti or disc.

  • I generally hate condors instantly but I don't hate that one! Good work!

  • So after much swearing the gravelkings are on. The 38c tires are huge but suit the bike imho

  • I'll be doing this on 42mm Nanos because I can't be bothered to change tyres and don't have time anyway. That'll be fine, right? Apart from massively draggy on the road sections?

  • Epic!! Tbh the wind will make more difference. It will be a a brutal head wind 😑

  • Love the idea, subbed

  • Absolutely bonkers! I’m NEVER riding that again! Only 1 mechanical issue. @modan got a puncture on the carrefour 5 star sector and Bryan’s (Sram of course) shifter decided to stop working properly.

  • Such a cold day , a pity it wasn't next week when it will be 20 degrees.

  • Well done all

You will do it again though and hopefully on a proper bike as well :)

Now you’ve done this you, can talk to Linxs about doing it ‘properly’

  • Stayer 38mm with 36 mm g one tubeless.

  • Little chance of that! It was horrible for the first hour. After that constant vibrations actually shook blood back into my fingers!

  • Bonus roubaix tech spotted on eurotunnel. A zero clearance giant defy 😂

  • Going to slowly and holding on to tightly!

  • Eff me that was a tough old day on the cobbles. How did you find the Gravel Kings? I ran mine at 40psi, I don't think it made it made any difference.

The two things I learnt were

    • make sure you've finished your gel before hitting the cobbles.
    • all sportives should have a traffic jam sector right before the end.
  • Their is a competition in the area for all the cobbled sections plus flanders ones with a prize trophy. Ride to section then nail it.

  • Hahaha yeah there were some hilarious shunts at the finish line when the Audi riders (Specialized and a Sagan jersey) realised too late that sprinting off the bend meant they needed more space to stop. I went went for the ‘bike friends’ finish instead
