I said audax, not roughstuff fellowship.

How much does it weigh like this? My dolan is basically the same for commuting and it's a tank
-

Not sure tbh, the wheels are budget and a bit porky so will be the next thing to be replaced, it's much lighter than the Croix De Fer I usually use for long stuff.

Curiosity got the better of me, it's 9.5kg as pictured minus the Carradice.

If I remember when I get to work tomorrow I'll see if I can get mine on the scales in stores. 9.5 isn't horrendous

Recently put this together, so apologies for such a crappy pic...
Had this frame hanging around after I decided road bikes are too much effort for a commute.
Trying to decide if steel is for me after years on Alu bikes.

very tempted to get this for my Dolan Seta, straight 1 1/8. thru axle, 367mm a-t-c, max 25mm tyres, cheap.
Downside? Hylix.

• #442
Whats wrong with Hylix?

• #443
What's on the seta at the moment? Is it a steel jobby? This fork does meet all the specifications tho.
Do you need thru-axle? If not Condor do a nice looking one for £150 https://www.condorcycles.com/collections/forks/products/pioggia-disc-fork -

I like to have 367mm length as this is nearly identical to the track fork length on the Dolan (carbon with alu steerer which ironically isn't as strong as a full carbon), leaving the only difference is simply more rake on the fork.
Thru axle is a bonus, make a considerable difference without having to overtighten the QR to have enough clamping force.
Condor look like an option abet twice the price, and 10mm longer isn't the end of the world.
Whats wrong with Hylix?
Simply the increase risk of whether it's sound or not coming directly from a factory.

Talking of R/F forks anyone know of a caliper road fork that's
365-370 a-t-c
40-45mm rake
Can be straight or tapered
BUT... would like clearance for at least 32cI have a tapered Columbus Fel that's 365 a-t-c, 45mm rake and clears a 28c. But it's probably to nice for my needs and i'd rather have something with more tyre clearance if it exists (without slackening the front end too much).
Or is 32c unrealistic with the fork length?

If black and o.g second dibs please, shouldn't of sold mine

Can be straight or tapered
As in adapter to run a straight fork in a tapered steerer? and what taper?
-
• #449
I currently have 1- 1/8" to 1.5" fork in a straight headtube using a Hope pick n mix external headset. I'd prefer to keep that and used a tapered fork but if there's something with a straight steerer that has good tyre clearance i believe i can swap the lower to 1-1/8th with the Hope.

Fair point, I even got that Hope 1 1/8 to 1.5 convertor cup in case I want to run a steel fork on the CX.
I know that the M-Part carbon fork can clear 32mm, however I recall it does need a longer reach brakes.
No 23mm tyres tho for that hardcore Audax crowds.
