Is this the 54 you were waiting for?

Impressive work, fantastic bike - one of the best imo - well done!

These Maxxis DTHs are fun, but quite odd. Supremely grippy with ultra-thin sidewalls that you'd think were the #supple dream those Randonnerds talk about all the time, but in reality (on these old narrow rims) they tramline like fuck if you drop the pressure below freestyle-bmx level. Literally drag the handlebars into turns, it's quite unnerving. They were cheap, at least.

I know super sixes are boring but quite happy with this at the moment. Needs a clean though.

I had a CAAD 9 a few years ago which I loved. So much I'm thinking of getting one again. Will any of the later CAADs give me the same feeling?

Hot.

made it to hipster sled. congrats
-
• #11260
Ha, that's it. I don't know if the geo is really upright on supersixes of this era because even with that stem it feels well relaxed.
This is the ultimate hipster sled, or will be when I get a new group set for it. Force just doesn't cut it, ya know?

Falls short of ultimate by a 1x11 group and a steerer cut. 8/10.
Arguably yours is more modern road bike material but i like it. -

and is one of the last 'Handmade in the USA' frames
give or take 5 years
-
• #11264
It's like #1 bullshit bingo for old CAAD sales advertisements.
-
• #11265
Don’t think I’ve seen a cannondale for sale that hasn’t said the same.

Which 'kind member of the ebay community' was that then?
On 10-Apr-19 at 18:33:50 BST, seller added the following information:
UPDATE TO ADVERT - Please note, this is NOT one of the LAST handmade
in the USA frames. A very generous and kind member of the eBay
community has pointed out to me that Cannondale continued to
manufacture frames beyond 2003 in the US and did not move full
production across to Taiwan until 2011. My apologies if this has
mis-led anyone in any way, this was certainly not my intention ... it
is simply a "Handmade in the USA" frame. -

Looking at a wheel upgrade for some carbon's on the CAAD 12 Disc, wondering if Aero wheels are worth it for this frame?
-
• #11269
I don't think it makes any difference what frame you're on. That's why nearly all aero wheels are the same shape.
question is wether it's worth it for your goals. if you lost you last crit / road race / tt by a matter of seconds, and winning is worth c. £400 then yes, they're worth it. It you think they look c. £400 better then yes, it's worth it. But in the vast majority of cases, the answer is no

I have the Hunt 4Season on anyway, so don't have the stock wheels, so might stick with what I have.
Just keep looking at those lovely carbon rim wheelsets
I know that a whole bike upgrade for aero inspired one is another £1k plus to what the Ultegra version I have.

Think I just saw this today, Caledonian Road, near the station, 6(ish) pm? Looks lovely, really classy!
-
• #11274
I have one of those, pretty heavy frame but rides nicely and just about takes 28mm tyres if called upon. Funnily enough, people keep mistaking it for a caad!

Been looking for some low profile crabon for this but actually I quite like it as is. Those are Ryde pulse sprints, so super forgiving... Do exalith ksyrium brake tracks stay black? I'm leaning towards alloy brake tracks so I'm not panicking when descending 30% hills round here.
Needs new tyres - gumwall looks better, non?
