This is going to be very good

Yeah I’ve done it loads before but this guy said that for the last year they’ve only honoured price matches for shops in London - then he price matched wiggle on the brake pads but wouldn’t allow me to pay the £19 vanilla want for a 105 chain or the £34.99 merlin want for a 11-30 105 cassette... 🤷♂️

Cheers! 😬

I’ve been told that I-link compressionless housing is the way to go... £50 for brake cables?? nah...

Priced matched in London only?
Which shop told you this? The list of shops we match to is on the website -

The one on the Cut - i was asking them to match Merlin and Vanilla, I’d thought that a price match was granted if they had a bricks and mortar shop anywhere in the uk but now reading the Evans website I guess the guy is right - he’d match local competitors and wiggle... it’s no big deal really

but it's a parlee

I absolutely love your fireplace. Bike is nice too!

Cheers, just had it swept but it’s an on going project - got three in varying states...
Anyway, it looks like i need some crank spacers, this might be a stupid question but are such things generic or are they crank/bb specific? anyone know where I can go and buy some in London today?

That doesn't look right
-

In what way? I’ve not pushed the axle all the way, the shaped bit at the end fits into the drive side leaving what I’d guess to be about 25mm (?) left... the adapters I took off the bb seem to space out about that for a shimano crank...

In that way.
Its BB/PF30 right? When I had BB30 sram cranks in a bb30 frame, there wasn't any spacers needed, just bearing covers, a couple of thin washers and a wave washer.

They are a thing - https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Rotor/3Dand43-or-30mm-Axle-Spacer-Kit/3M1F just wonder if there is somewhere I can pick some up today so I can build the bike tomorrow...
-
• #66
That’s how I thought it should be and was surprised when I offered the cranks up but I just assumed I needed spacers... 🤷♂️ Never had BB30/Pressfit/rotor cranks before...
-
• #67
How odd.
if needed to fill the space used by outboard bottom brackets on Press Fit or BB Right frames
But its a 30mm axle so you're not ever going to have outboard bearings are you?
-
• #68
I thought the same, but then rotor seem to do this whole universal everything fits everything interchangeable stuff... could be that the axle is longer for a specific frame - I bought it off a guy who was running them on a cervelo and I’m now aware that some rotor kit is specific to their frames... 🤷♂️
-
• #69
Yeah there's some that came standard on Cervelos
BB standards confuse me
-
• #70
Yup me too, I’m thinking I might just hand the whole lot into a shop to build it for me - carbon paste, torque wrenches and electronics are probably a bit beyond me...
in this video the BB they install has something that sits outside of the BB shell that might account for the slack I’ve got - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-MLh4WmwFMc -

Yup I googled and saw this
But that looks 24mm rather than 30

If your crankset is a rotor 3d+, it can be used with a bsa30 bb which means it has a longer axle. It also is possible to use it with a bb30 frame in which case you would need large spacers. 11,5 on each side if I recall correctly.

👍🏻 Thank you!
Just popped into the LBS near work and they gave me a hand full for spacers and some bearing covers and wished me luck - then someone dropped a Caad in with rotor -

Excellent! Many thanks!
I called bespoke and the mechanic said I could stop by and he’d give me a set! 👍🏻👍🏻
Weird, I price match from wiggle and sutch without issue. Might be a new policy. Cycle surgery price match too FYI
