• Not really after triggers though, the idea is to go simple and reliable. I’ve looked at old school xtr, and whilst lovely, is way too pricey for my needs. I just want a bar mounted indexed lever that isn’t shit.

    At some point, you have to conclude that the ~£20 Shimano SL-R2000-R Claris trigger is the simple and reliable solution if you don't want to spend a pile of money on some boutique Rube Goldberg device.

  • I've found (similar shifters to) these start to show issues after a couple k's, especially when used in the rain. Had to take one apart a while ago, luckily there was some idiot-proof guidance on youtube available.

    Any maintenance tips?

  • I’ll entertain any option, my principal concern is reliability though, triggers seem to be a bit more over engineered.
