NO to John Lewis and their underwriter, can’t remember which but they do pretty much all the supermarket ones. No claim still double the premium year on year. Mine went form £7 to £11 to £25... and I only made a claim for about £800. Between £7 to £11 and no claim between £11 to £25 and I said no to £25 and fuck you.
Pet Plan is good, they have good relationships with loads of vets. Patch had to have her tooth removed last year, about £600, got it pre authorised and got money within a week after the op. I mean the vet was efficient too with paperwork.
One tip though, I know your kitty is only young but pay for the most expensive plan you could afford and go down if you need to in the future. Once you have made a claim, you won’t be able to go up regardless of the nature of claims (ok, maybe some exceptions).
I made this mistake when Patch was about 2 and went with JL on their cheapest plan with £3000 plan, made a claim for about £800 of a one off condition, and they wouldn’t allow me to change plan.
Had a long chat with Petplan on the situation and they told me the same thing, however small the claim, once you have made one, it would be hard to go up with your premium but you can go down all you like.
I pay £24 a month for a £12000 a year plan with pet plan, excluding the condition claimed with JL, still worth it. Made a claim with pet plan near the end of the policy year and only saw premium went up by about £2.

I just went through a claim process with "Healthy Pets" following Lolas eye surgery. They paid up with only admin questions asked. The excess was £100
Were a fair bit cheaper than Petplan, but I went for the bronze coverage. I'll be looking to upgrade to silver or gold at renewal though as the bronze coverage is £1000 which we diced a little to closely with for my liking.
Need to sort insurance out for my little'ish one(he is 1.5 years, neutered and not insured yet). Pet Plan seems ok for sub 20 quid a month? any suggestions are welcome. Any judgement on the no insurance yet thing is ok as well....I would have paid what ever was needed without having insurance(not rich, not even middle class, just have some savings)
