Could be totally wrong but I think it may need to go to Japan...

no, you will have to buy a new one sadly, they are now completely unrepairable
absolutely no servicing, including those amazing japanese shops that don't even have a website

And I distinctly remember the guy that runs the Tokyo Camera Style instagram posting a month or so ago saying that they can still be repaired.

I put it in my pocket and it somehow opened up by rubbing the dial. So its something to do with the lens. yet it still could potentially operate.

he is a 22-year-old full time student, with no access to the correct spare parts, making stuff himself, after learning a bit on the job at mr cad.
his short 3 month warranty isn't going to prove much help after how much you'll pay for the repair.

I mean he seems like the current go to guy in regards to T2's and in reality you give him a bash or send to the states to Nippon or buy another.

Yeah Ive had that before with mine, seems to easy to turn on in your pocket if you dont have it in a case and it just fucks it.

If anyone has a broken Contax and wants it repaired by Nippon in New York, I can take it back to NY with me at the end of April and bring it back mid June when I'm home. A last resort but the offer is there.
