"Find steep hill, get up to ~20mph, haul on brakes" is the technique I use, it's not very technical though and I'm very open to suggestions.
I find that a longer, less steep hill is better. Get lots of heat in the rotors by dragging the brakes for the first two thirds, then do some short, hard braking bursts for the final third.
