have rockshox sid 120 29er forks I'm looking to shift - thru axle, non-boost. 200 quid.
recently serviced, work nicely, not impossible to work on yaself -
It’s generally a bad idea - people don’t really follow the service intervals or have a clue about how they work so the chances of the condition being known let alone being described accurately is pretty slim.

I went through technically three forks in quick succession doing nothing hardcore, before giving in and sticking the rigids on the Acid. Would not recommend secondhand unless you know history.

How bad of an idea is getting second hand squishy forks? Which brands are reasonably serviceable for the endeavoring home mechanic on a budget if an overhaul would be necessary?
