I was. But I'm turbo training at night and then going to gym early morning so I'm basically tired and slow in the morning and then getting sweaty inside so don't want to have to ride fast to warm up.
I rode in shorts (w/ jacket) last night and my missus said she was snowed on! dafuq. I was toasty as fuck in a jacket compared to numb arms like normal. I'm still trying to workout if I can acclimate to cold... I reckon I'm less sensitive to it so maybe it does work.

shorts and kneewarmers
thin jacket today instead of arm-warmers
thin running gloves as I couldn't find any mitts -

The tank's been trundling up and down in Chelsea outside the National Army Museum today - think it's for the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Armoured Corps.

Ah I see! I thought it'd be something along those lines. Not the best time of day to transport it to Chelsea though.

I have a cold and got the treat this morning of cycling through icy, pissing rain then sitting on the train in wet clothes for forty minutes, then a further bike ride in the wet.
I don't mind the rain but for fucks sake can the temperature warm up.

I'm the opposite. Much prefer it to be fucking freezing and dry.
-
• #26459
yes. cold and dry any day of the week. putting on still damp from the morning cycling gear for the ride home can do one.

I was minding my own business riding up New North Road, when this guy in a 4x4 Mercedes overtakes and tailgates me, close enough for me to gently tapping the car. So he stops right in front of me, I ride up to the passenger side front window, which he opens after a while and this ensues:
- what the hell do you think you're doing touching my car?
- what the hell do you think you're doing cutting my line?at which point he sort of looks sideways, utters a "fucking foreigner" and drive off. Heh 🤷
I should have told him to go away, lest I taunt him a second time (as I happen to be French).

Yep, had that experience before as well. There are charming people out there for sure.

Chickened out yesterday freezing cold rain. Very... refreshing this morning.
Somebody put an actual ramskull on top of their dodge car ram logo. Ok then. Weird...
And here is a heron for the heron fans

8am - suited and very drunk, very posh bloke called Jonathan (“Hello! I’m Jonathan. Who are you? I’m a bit drunk.” - repeated every thirty seconds) fell off the kerb into the road in front of me, on Albion St near Hyde Park. Glasses, phone, arms, legs, change and all other paraphernalia went everywhere. Helped him up and fetched his stuff while the builders nearby either ignored him or sniggered into their cups of tea. Insisted he didn’t need any help. Not sure he’d have remained upright for much longer after I left him to his “very busy day”.
Rat-arsed at 8am. Good work... :/

First day of the new ULEZ and all i noticed were fewer bikcycles on the road . Maybe the weather forced people into cars.

I had similar encounters, very sad when it happens. Something tells me this might have something to do with obsolete ideas of masculinity and car preponderance, but still working theory 🧐 might have to add some good old douchery to the formula

It's a lovely sunny afternoon in Belfast.
Didn't stop Mr Seat Leon speeding and closeish overtaking and Mr Audi saloon and hanging of my rear wheel with a slow, but way too close pass. Not agressive but still much too close. Shall report and ask plod to be friendly if it's their first.
Kudos to the lads in a clio with their dance music shouting encouragement going past.

Pleasant suprise bumping into @SwissChap rolling down Putney High Street.
Chilly, but felt well-gloved (about clothing choices, not the encounter).

Day two of four days back to commuting from Brighton to London, this week. Anxiety through the roof and a vague sense of impending doom about ‘stuff’.
On the upside, a nice booster jab against EVER leaving London EVER again EVER.
edited to make sense
Hold on, I thought you were all '#denywinter'...?
