If I ever get a 57/58cm Look KG243 to put all my 7700 on I’ll build mine up as a neat modern thing like that.

DA 10 is so underrated
How so? Even without the compatibility issues, it's a shit idea. Given the low speed and the fact that wear rate and chordal action are not a serious problem for track racing, and that the desired fine-grained ratio adjustment can be accommodated with 1/2 tooth increments on both chainring and sprocket, double pitch chain looks like a potential route to efficiency gain, i.e. the exact opposite of Shimano's vainglorious blunder.

Bianchi bikes from that era are some of the nicest pro bikes ever.
Clean, elegant design and instantly recognizable colour. -

instantly recognizable colour.
Is the story about this true? I.e that they were supposed to be white (Bianchi means 'whites') but the painters mixed a load of blue in for a laugh because the boss was colourblind and they wanted to see if he noticed

Bianchi bicycles are traditionally painted Celeste, a turquoise also known as Bianchi Green, (and sometimes, incorrectly Tiffany Blue, a trademarked colour). Contradictory myths say Celeste is the colour of the Milan sky, the eye colour of a former queen of Italy for whom Edoardo Bianchi made a bicycle (the crowned eagle of the company logo is an adaptation of the former royal crest) and that it was a mixture of surplus military paint. The shade has changed over the years, sometimes more blue, then more green. [extracted from Wikipedia]

Celeste from the 1970s was a difficult colour to photograph. It looked greenish in real life but most magazines of the day made it look light blue.
Bianchi had really nice pantograph details too, their brake levers with rainbow Stripes were excellent. -

yeah a nice chromed celeste bianchi would be in most people bike porn list
