MySpace still exists, people still use it. A lot of those people store music up there, in some cases their own/group's creation. About a year ago, people found they couldn't play music they uploaded before 2015.

Turns out it's all gone. All the music from 2003 to 2015.

This got me thinking of John Peel and his archive. Somewhere in that database was the next Teenage Kicks. And we might never hear it.

I had wondered why the player on my old bands page doesn’t work, I guess that explains it.

My friend used to be in a terrible emo/indie band that he’s really embarrassed about. MySpace was the only place any of their tracks existed and I’m crushed that I’ll never be able to laugh at them.

Now, why might the users of this app need to use non-standard characters? Hmm. Hmmm. Hmmmm.

Is that a real domain?

Yes.

More often than not, these sort of things are thrown up because the back end system the form is writing to only accepts certain characters, that said, it's not a massive ask to change these characters to something less problematic on submission.
