  • Thanks mate, I'll drop you a message haven't seen you in ages!

  • There was two I think, Shawn Hargreaves last year's overall Audax points and Fixed Wheel Challenge winner and this forums very own @J_a_m_e_s__

  • I wondered who would get it. You win!

To be honest I thought it would be Mr Schick.

  • There was a guy speaking at the party start of IndyPac who had ridden with Oppy. Can't remember his name, but he's a bit of an Aussie long distance legend and has ridden across the Nullarbor about 5 times.
He told about Oppy saying that. At the time I thought it was a bit trite but, after 8-9 days, rolling out of Port Augusta on a flat road into a gale, in the middle of the night, I just found myself starting to freewheel whenever I didn't consciously make myself pedal. I then thought back to it and realised it was one of the most profound things I've ever heard, just I had needed to ride for a week to get to the state where I could appreciate the wisdom!

  • Very impressive to both of them.

Even the thought of descending Downe Road on fixed terrifies me, and that's 500 metres of a 300k ride...

  • Is anyone else that's doing Bill's easton connection this weekend tackling it on fixed? I did Mad March 200k and a hillyish 150mile ride by myself on 73" but I'm a bit worried it's going to be too high for some of the climbs.

  • What's the status of team LFGSS for the Shark? In two minds about entering...

  • me too ..

  • Don't know about everyone else but I'm in and would more than welcome the company

  • Amey <3 come on

  • Had a good weekend of audaxing.

Saturday I was in Galashiels for the Moffat Toffee 200 before driving down to Newcastle for the Up on the Roof Extension 200 from Ponteland.

The first 200 I got around quickly dispite the wind, but the Northumberland and County Durham hills on Sunday took their toll on my tired legs.

  • I think a number of local Bristol folk will be fixed.

  • So, anyone want to do an Easter Arrow?

  • Also in for the Shark!

  • You're a brave man

  • I probably won’t be mega fast, but I’ll be doing the Shark on my black Kepler. Riding with a guy and 2 rando’s (huehuehue)

  • Some details of early LEL 2021 entry: https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=111548.0

  • 2021? That's just silly now.

  • Thankfully already an AUK member (from prior to Sep 2018) so can miss the mad rush for these places. Members get guaranteed entry.

  • I think it just helps as they have funds to start booking things like controls etc

  • New Audax Club Hackney kit landed yesterday and will be on show this weekend. Been a labour of love, really pleased with how it's turned out.

  • I'm looking forward to it- Don't want to be a drag on anyone given my (very slow) pace but do say hello! I'll be the guy on a Btwin struggling up hills

  • I will be doing the Shark on Sunday too - riding a Kona with shiny bits - Say hi!

  • Team LFGSS CC out in force.
