Kicked a small stone up on a ride yesterday & it seems to have been caught between the brake pad & the rim & taken a chunk out (WTH, I hate gravel now)! Only had these wheels for six months, so is a bit annoying. Any ideas on how I can reduce the sound while riding? Still brakes fine, I guess it will be okay when the rim has worn down to its depth.
I was thinking about JB weld and some emery cloth to fill in the gap and smooth out the rims, gonna do some more research to find out if this is a terrible ideas.
That sounds like an approach which could work! Was riding with someone with carbon rims/braking surfaces when it happened, she was very glad it didn't happen to her.
